I'm leaving on January 15th, from JFK. I'll be flying through Ireland and Belgium, on my way to Marrakesh, and arrive in the mid-afternoon on the 16th. The university- which is more near Fes, about 7-8 hours away- wants me on site before then, but my plane tickets were cheap and I'll have an opportunity to check out the djema el-fnaa (market) and the souks of Marrakesh. I'll spend that night in a hostel before getting up early the 17th and making my way to the train station, and Fez. Well, this is my plan anyways.

I don't expect to take any photos or buy anything that first day, but just wander around the hostel/market area and take things in. My next post will probably be from Morocco!
